Worksite Wellness Program Drop-in Exercise Training Sessions

LSSU's employee Worksite Wellness Program announces another exercise option for members: Drop-in Exercise Training Sessions. Participants will get education, motivation and exercise training all in one session. Drop in times are open twice a week, from noon-1 p.m. on Tuesdays and 5-6 p.m. on Wednesdays. The drop-in exercise sessions provide personal training benefits in a group atmosphere, and are designed to provide a full-body workout that incorporates all of the components of fitness. Participants will learn new exercises and get help to ensure they are using proper exercise techniques while working toward individual fitness goals. Individual exercises will be chosen based on a person's current fitness level, fitness goals and exercise training experience. Participants will be provided with an exercise log to record each session. Must be a member of the Worksite Wellness Program to participate.

Worksite Wellness Program Circuit Training Class

5:00 PM until 6:00 PM

LSSU's Worksite Wellness Program invites all employees to a circuit training class that is open to individuals of all fitness levels. It will incorporate innovative and classic type exercises to provide an overall body workout each session, using dumbbells, body-weight-based exercises, a stationary bicycle and more. We will be incorporating all the components of fitness: muscular strength, muscular endurance, body composition, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance into the circuits, helping participants to improve their entire fitness status. Participants will obtain a great workout, while also learning new exercises to incorporate into their personal exercise routines. The class will meet for approximately one hour at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesdays in the Norris Center Dance Studio, room 208. LSSU Exercise Science senior Jessica Coullard will be instructing the class under the tutelage of Worksite Wellness Coordinator Jody Susi. This class is only open to LSSU Worksite Wellness members, so remember to update your membership if it has expired.

Dr. Gerry Mooney to speak on Scottish Independence

Bully: Documentary and Panel Discussion

GLSW Event: Gallery Open House and Meet the Artist

The LSSU Arts Center Gallery features the exhibition, "Serious Color" by Heidi Reichenbach Finley, artist and adjunct professor at LSSU. Massive, intensely colored, non-representational oil paintings complement smaller but no-less-vibrant landscapes and animal paintings. An accompanying video plays in the gallery, sharing the background of several pieces on display and offering an intimate glimpse into this artist's mind and process. The show runs through Nov. 28, but the public reception is today.

Laker students, alumni and the community are invited to enjoy music, games, food and more for Lakers of all ages before the game.
