Seamore Shuttle

The Seamore Shuttle is a free service provided by LSSU that takes LSSU students downtown and to places on the business spur, including Varsity Cinemas. Pick-up and drop-off is at the Walker Cisler Center. Shuttle runs from 6-10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday.

Enactus Sausage Sale

LSSU Enactus invites you to have an Italian sausage for lunch today. The students of Enactus will be grilling three varieties: mild, jalapeņo, and cheesy. Price is $3.50 for just the sausage and $5 for a sausage, chips and drink.

The presenter, Beverly Haske, is the Peer Mentor Coordinator in the Learning Center. Beverly will talk about what Disney does to create lasting customer service experiences and how you can do the same to create lasting experiences with LSSU students! Everett's program offers interviews with some of the university's most influential academic leaders, administrators, current students, alumni, and community leaders. The program offers an opportunity to showcase research and developments at LSSU and within the community. WLSO is heard locally, including a limited area around Sault, Ontario.

CopDocs Talk Show

Drs. Aaron Westrick and Frank Tridico invite you to listen to their weekly talk show "CopDocs" every Wednesday on WLSO 90.1 FM. This talk show focuses on law and criminal justice issues. Westrick, an LSSU criminal justice professor, hosts the program with co-host, program engineer and criminal justice student Greg Reinert. Tridico is a regular co-host every two weeks. The program is heard locally, including a limited area in Canada, and offers an intellectually stimulating exchange of ideas related to criminal justice, law and social issues. During the fall semester, topics included sexual assault awareness, crime scene investigation, police/community relationships and recent protests, the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and national security.

The meeting is open to the public, and the agenda includes remarks from the president -- including updates on Shared Governance and the Athletics Dept. -- as well as reports from trustees and staff on enrollment, the honorary doctorate recipient, personnel, academic affairs, student affairs, charter schools, finance, and development. The board will also act upon recommendations for faculty promotion, tenure and sabbatical.

Auditions for February production of the Vagina Monologues

LSSU's chapter of the American Association of University Women will be holding auditions for their February production of the Vagina Monologues this Friday, Jan 30, at 5 p.m. in library room 278. Eve Ensler's Monologues is a compilation of vignettes related to women's issues. Roles are open to female students, staff, and faculty; males are free to help with stage work! Public reception for artist and LSSU professor Lloyd Eddy

Description:

 

Prof. Eddy holds a public reception in the Arts Center gallery for his show of original work on display through February. Eddy joined LSSU as an assistant professor of arts and humanities in this past fall. He holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Siena Heights University as well as a master of fine arts from the prestigious Cranbrook Academy of Art. Eddy has been teaching college art, painting, drawing, design, foundations, figure drawing, humanities, and other courses for almost twelve years. He is a practicing fine artist and has exhibited nationally.
