Eddy Lloyd Mural of LSSU

Lake Superior State University art professor Lloyd Eddy stands by a 30- by 30-foot mural he designed and created in downtown Sault Ste. Marie that conveys a 70-year relationship the city has with Michigan’s smallest public university. His work adorns the wall of Pingatore Cleaners, a business owned by longtime LSSU supporter and Alumni award winner, Rick Fitzpatrick. Eddy’s painting is one of four building murals being funded through a public Kick Starter campaign and with grants from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Michigan State Housing Authority, under the auspices of the Sault Downtown Development Authority. City officials figure that 10,000 vehicles will see Eddy’s mural – located at 713 Ashmun – each day. The effort consumed about 100 Eddy-hours of work and 16 gallons of paint.
