Student Government Officers 2025-2026

President

Riley Adams, President
Major: Pre-Law

I am the Student Government Association President working to bring SGA back to life as a strong, visible voice for students for the years to come! For too long, SGA has been absent on campus, but I see this blank slate as an opportunity to create something new and exciting. My vision includes hosting more student-driven events, supporting groups that lack resources, and expanding initiatives such as the food pantry to better serve our community.

As a senior pre-law student, I bring a unique blend of organizational skills and leadership experience. My work as a student employee gave me the opportunity to collaborate with administrators, while my role as Chief Justice on the Judicial Board taught me how to run meetings, navigate rules and regulations, and represent student interests fairly. These experiences prepared me to lead with organization, understanding, and cooperation.

I believe SGA should be BY the students, FOR the students. That means ensuring every student has a voice, whether that be through voting, proposing events, or reaching out to SGA directly. I’ve already had many conversations with administrators and students about how to reestablish SGA, and I am excited to have a chance to put those plans into action.

If elected, I will dedicate myself to rebuilding SGA into a full and active board that truly represents our student body, strengthens collaboration, and restores pride in what it means to be a Laker.

  • Ratification. This Bill of Student Rights shall become an official governing document of the Student Assembly and part of University policy with the approval of a majority of voting members of the Student Assembly and subject to the approval of the President of the University, in an election to take place April 6-13, 2006.
  • Amendment. This Bill of Student Rights may be amended by a two-thirds vote of Student Government, subject to the approval of the President of the University.
  • Revocation. This Bill of Student Rights may be revoked only by a referendum representing a quorum of twenty percent of the Student Assembly.
  • Severance. If any provision of this Bill of Student Rights is held to be in violation of federal, state, or local law, or in violation of a contract between the University and another party, that provision shall be severed from this Bill of Student Rights, the remainder of which shall remain in force.
