The AAS in Animal Health is an intensive set of applied Biology courses designed to train you in the field of Animal Health, using a “One Health” approach. In this degree, you will be introduced to bacterial, viral, and parasitic diseases, within the context of an animal’s nutrition, behavior, physiology and genotype. You will also learn how environmental conditions contribute to the spread of disease through populations (ecology) and how animal disease can transfer to human populations (zoonoses). The degree can be used as a terminal degree, but students are encouraged to complete the BS Biology: Animal Biology.
