6th Annual Candidates Forum

7:00 PM until 9:00 PM
Organization:
Description:

The Sault Area Chamber of Commerce along with the LSSU Political Science Club will be hosting their annual Meet the Candidates Forum tonight. Everyone is welcome. The forums have historically provided the community with an opportunity to meet candidates running for local, state and national offices. This year's forum will focus on individuals running for state and county offices. Current confirmed candidates include those running for state representative in the 107th District, Frank Foster and Suzanne Shumway. In addition, Chippewa County Prosecuting Attorney candidates Brian Peppler and Rob Stratton are also confirmed to participate. Please visit the Sault Area Chamber of Commerce homepage as the forum date draws nearer for an updated list of additional participating candidates. LSSU Political Science Club students will provide assistance during the event and LSSU Political Science Prof. Gary Johnson will serve as moderator. The audience will be encouraged to submit written questions to the moderator, who will then provide each candidate an opportunity to address the question. Candidates will give brief opening and closing statements and have the chance to meet one-on-one with those in attendance. Parking is available in the Visitor's Parking lot or in the lot north of the Cisler Center.
