Professionals like you, have found that as they progressed in
their careers the challenges of
managing technical areas has
increased due to rapidly changing
technologies. They needed to
update their technical skills
and expand their opportunities.
Furthermore, these individuals
find themselves ready to move
into a more management type
position, but lack the educational
credentials.
This program is designed for
those individuals; individuals
just like you. The Engineering
Management program makes
use of Lake Superior State
University's nationally accredited
engineering and technology
programs as well as its
international business program to
address these issues. (Plan of Study - pdf)
Although the program was originally designed for students who had already completed a two-year technical degree, many students are finding this a great place to start their careers.
The program provides graduates with
the knowledge and understanding to
organize and lead technical personnel,
manage the broad aspects of technical
projects, and advance their careers.
The combination of business and
technology courses prepare you for
middle to upper management positions
within your technical field. Courses
can be taken on campus at either of our
two regional sites located at Bay de Noc
Community College in Escanaba or North
Central Michigan College in Petoskey.

Whether you're just entering college or have completed
a technical associate's degree, the Engineering
Management degree is worth considering.
You can complete your first two years at LSSU or at any two-year college-level technical program. An LSSU advisor
will help guide you no matter where you're located.
Technical associate's degree transfer credits are
accepted from a wide range of programs (e.g. electrical,
mechanical, computer, manufacturing, industrial).
As you pursue your Engineering Management degree
you'll take courses in business, accounting, finance,
management, and additional courses in manufacturing,
quality control, automation, rapid prototyping, and
robotics.
Many of the technical courses have lab components
that allow students to gain experiences with modern
automated equipment in state-of-the-art laboratories. Lecture courses may be available as distance education via online or interactive TV as well as traditional classroom settings. Several "live" classes at the regional sites are held nights and weekends, designed for the non-traditional student and working adults. Information and registration for regional sites can be obtained through the site directors as well as the main campus. |
