Whether you’re a student, parent, or counselor, our tours can show you what it means to be a Laker. If you are looking for a specific date that is closed on the events page, please contact the Admissions Office to schedule.
Campus Tours
- What’s included: walking tour throughout campus led by current students, showcasing academic buildings, residence halls, student life, and athletic facilities.
- When: Daily, Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 1:30 PM (No 9:30 Am June-August). If a date is closed, please contact the Admissions Office to register.
- Standard Tour Group Size: 12-15 people maximum.

Laker Preview Day
October 3rd @ 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Laker Preview Day is an opportunity for prospective students and their families to experience what it’s like to be a Laker. Guests can explore campus, learn about academic programs, meet faculty and current students, and discover the resources and opportunities available at LSSU. The day will also include information about admissions, financial aid, scholarships, housing, and next steps for joining the Laker community.

Guests can explore campus, learn about academic programs, meet faculty and current students, and discover the resources and opportunities available at LSSU. The day will also include information about admissions, financial aid, scholarships, housing, and next steps for joining the Laker community. All sessions will be held virtually.

Hockey Academic Showcase
November 20th @ 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM
This showcase features hands-on academic experiences, opportunities to connect with LSSU faculty, and the exhilarating energy of a Laker home hockey weekend. Ideal for students who want to confirm their program of interest while getting a first-hand look at Lake State life.

Visit Logistics
- Where: LSSU is in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, or about 45 minutes north of the Mackinac Bridge and the last exit on I-75 before Canada. Campus sits along the St. Mary’s River, directly across from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
- Location on Campus: Admissions (tour start) is located on the first floor of the Walker Cisler Center. Parking is available in Lot E behind the building.
- Directions: Whether entering through the front or back of the building, follow the signs to the Admissions Office on the first floor.

The additional options listed below may be available to schedule as part of your tour.
- Faculty or Department Visits: Meet with faculty or program representatives to learn more about areas that may interest you.
- Labs & Research Centers: Explore our individual labs and research centers available for students. Options include the Center for Advanced Robotics Engineering, Center for Freshwater Research and Education, Cannabis Center of Excellence, Superior Simulation Center, and Aquaponics Labs.
- Financial Aid & Housing Consultations: Schedule one-on-one sessions for questions about tuition, scholarships, and more.
