How To Apply For Admission
Choosing what to do after high school is a big decision, but you don’t have to do it alone. At Lake Superior State, our admissions and recruiting teams are here to guide you every step of the way! We are here to help you explore your options, understand financial aid, and connect your education to your career goals. Applying is simple, free, and designed to get you on the path to success.
Step 1: Submit your online application—for free!
Step 2: Ask your high school to send your official transcript.
Step 3: Send your ACT or SAT scores if you’d like them considered (they’re optional and will not affect your admission).
Step 4: If you’ve earned college credit through dual enrollment, AP, or early college, request official transcripts from each college or university you’ve attended.
Admissions Criteria
Your academic preparation and success are the primary considerations for admission, with cumulative GPA and high school coursework carrying the most weight. We recommend following a college-prep curriculum that mirrors the Michigan Merit Curriculum, but we also recognize that life can affect academics—so feel free to submit any additional materials that help us understand your journey.
Minimum Admission Criteria: 2.4 high school GPA for first-year students.
ACT/SAT Scores: Not required for admission, but opens up scholarships and may be used for course placement.
