Moodle is the Learning Management System (LMS) used at Lake Superior State University to support teaching and learning. Faculty use Moodle to post course materials, communicate with students, and manage assignments and grades for both synchronous and asynchronous courses.

Accessing Moodle

Log in to Moodle at: my.lssu.edu. Use your my.lssu.edu userid and password to log in.

Reset your Moodle password:
Go to my.lssu.edu and click on the red arrow shown in the picture below.

Forgot Password Help

Type in your username in the red box shown below. Your username is the first part of your email address without the @lssu.edu. Click on the Submit button.

Typical uses of Moodle:

Please note: Faculty use of Moodle depends on whether a course is taught fully online, in a hybrid/HyFlex format, or face-to-face. Some instructors may choose to use only certain features, while others might incorporate a full range of activities.

For Students:

  • View course materials and syllabi
  • Submit assignments and take quizzes
  • Participate in forums and discussions
  • Track grades and progress

Students, please note that faculty use Moodle differently in their courses depending on whether the course is being taught fully online, blended, or face-to-face.
