Visit the ASC for academic support through peer tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, the Math Center and the Writing Center!
The goal of the Academic Success Center’s tutoring program is to enhance students’ abilities to master difficult material in a personal and technologically supported environment. The focus is on student learning and assisting the student with course content via development of study skills, note-taking and test preparation techniques, time management/organizational skills, and other academic success strategies. Our tutors work with students to help them achieve academic independence.
The tutoring program provides individual and small-group tutoring for many 000-, 100-, and 200-level courses. If a tutor is unavailable at the time of student inquiry, we do our best to locate a tutor or some other form of academic assistance that will benefit the student. For more information on setting up an appointment, visit the Academic Success Center at the center desk on the main floor of the library.
Our tutors must be enrolled full-time at LSSU, carry at least a 3.0 GPA, have successfully completed the courses to be tutored, and receive the professor’s recommendation to tutor each course. If you are interested in becoming a tutor, please visit the Academic Success Center for more information.
