Research Projects

The Center’s research projects include the development of autonomous maritime systems, autonomous navigation, human-robot interaction, control systems, and automated manufacturing processes. Equipped with over $3 million in robotics and automation equipment, the Center supports advanced research and development. Specific projects include:

  • Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs): Research and development of USVs focus on creating versatile and reliable systems for various maritime applications, including environmental monitoring and data collection.
  • Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs): UAV projects aim to integrate aerial capabilities with maritime robotics, enhancing the operational scope for search and rescue, surveillance, and more.
  • Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs) – Sardaine: The Sardaine project involves the development of an ASV equipped with advanced navigation and operational capabilities for autonomous missions.

Collaborative Projects

Students and faculty engage in collaborative projects, often working on real-world applications and participating in international competitions such as RobotX, which involves outfitting and programming a Wave Adaptive Modular Vessel (WAM-V) for autonomous operation.
