Performing ensembles

Lake Superior Soundwave Pep Band

The flagship ensemble on campus, the pep band is the most active ensemble to participate in. From hockey games to basketball and volleyball games, the Lake Superior Soundwave is one of the premiere pep bands in the state of Michigan. Be ready to amp up the volume and create an electric atmosphere at athletic events. This ensemble is open to all students who want to participate. Rehearsals are Tuesday and Thursday nights from 8-9 p.m.

Shore Party Jazz Band
Performing Big Band Classics, Contemporary masterpieces and everything in between, the Shore Party Jazz Band is a place for lover’s of jazz to come and play. Rehearsals are Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7-8 p.m.
Symphonic Band

The Sault City Concert Band is a traditional wind band with a focus on wind band literature. From fast, bombastic overtures to monolithic tone poems, this ensemble performs a wide variety of music and styles. Rehearsals are Monday nights from 7-9 p.m.

 

Concert Choir

The LSSU Concert Choir welcomes all who want to share their voice in a traditional choir setting. This ensemble performs both liturgical and secular music, as well as music that spans multiple eras (Classical, Renaissance, Romantic, Contemporary). Rehearsals are Wednesday nights from 7-9 p.m.

Chamber Orchestra

The LSSU Chamber Orchestra is a new ensemble available for string musicians. This ensemble performs a wide variety of orchestral works, with a focus on contemporary string music. Rehearsals are Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6-7 p.m.

Ensembles are available to any musician who wants to share their talents with LSSU!

Featuring performances from the LSSU Concert Choir, LSSU Chamber Orchestra, and Sault City Community Concert Band, this performance always dazzles and delights audiences.
