The Provost is the chief academic officer of Lake Superior State University. Dr. Kimberly Muller provides leadership and oversight for Academic Affairs, including Assessment and Accreditation, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Great Lakes Ecology and Education, the College of Professional Studies, Library and Academic Services, the Registrar’s Office, Charter Schools, Regional Centers, and Sponsored Programs.
Dr. Muller holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of North Texas. She joined LSSU in 2004 as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics. She was granted tenure and promoted to Associate Professor in 2009 and then promoted to the rank of Professor in 2016. She served as Chair of the School of Mathematics and Computer Science from 2015 until 2018 and as Dean of the College of Innovation and Solutions from 2018 until 2023, when she was appointed Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Muller subsequently assumed the permanent role of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
As Provost, Dr. Muller works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and university leadership to advance academic excellence, student success, assessment and continuous improvement, and the University’s strategic priorities.
