Employee Benefit Packages

In addition to offering a very competitive salary for the area, LSSU awards their staff with an outstanding benefit package.

Health Insurance – LSSU pays the large majority (84% to 94%) of the costs for medical, prescription, dental & vision insurance for its employees and their spouse and dependents. Employees are eligible for health insurance on their start date with LSSU.

Retirement – LSSU’s contribution towards retirement is a generous 10% of an employee’s salary. Contributions are made into a 403B plan with TIAA. Employees also have the option to contribute additional pre-tax money into a supplemental plan with TIAA by payroll deduction. Employees are vested when contributions begin.

Paid Time Off – All regular employees, including part-time workers are provided a substantial amount of time away from work. Paid time off includes vacation, sick leave, personal leave, 10 holidays, funeral leave, and long-term disability.

Tuition – Employees can attend classes at LSSU tuition-free. Employee’s eligible dependents can attend for 1/2 price tuition.

Life Insurance – Employees are enrolled in a $50,000 Life plus $50,000 A.D. & D.

University Resources & Events– Employees can take advantage of the University library and athletic facilities free of charge. They are also encouraged to show their LAKER pride by attending LSSU sponsored sporting events & cultural activities for no cost. Their family members can join them for 1/2 price.
